Lourdes Grotto, Baguio City

One of the tourists' spots in Baguio City.
Located in Dominican Hill Road, Mirador Hill, Baguio City, Philippines.

It is a a silent place where you can meditate, light candles and say your prayers. But before you reach the shrine you must walk 252 steps up or can also access a narrow road for light vehicles only.

You can overlook parts of Baguio City when you are at Lourdes grotto shrine. And if you roam around at the top you can see more views and places near Baguio City, some parts of La Union and Pangasinan.

They say that the grotto was constructed to commemorate the numerous visions of Virgin Mary by a 14yr old French girl named Bernadette Soubirous in year 1858 from February 11 to July 16 in Lourdes in France. The visions are authenticated by the Pope in 1862 which  led to the authorization of the cult of Our Lady of Lourdes.
